The Executive Assistant to the Presiden t (EA) serves as the primary point of contact for internal constituencies, including the President's Directors, on matters pertaining to the Office of the President. The EA creates and maintains cross-departmental relationships supporting a culture of communication and successful team work.

The EA has responsibility for day-to-day projects and tasks, including but not limited to, team management, meeting preparation, and serving as the lead on projects for the President. The EA works closely with the assistants to the Vice President of Academic Affairs, and the Vice President for Enrollment and Student Affairs facilitating cross departmental communication.

Responsible for demonstrating LSSC’s values of learning, people, student success, forward thinking, commitment to excellence, accessibility, diversity, partnerships, and sound management practices.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Principal Duties include, but are not limited to:

- Creates and promotes an atmosphere of excellence and professionalism in the President's Office through communications, interactions, and personal appearance.

- Provide a bridge for smooth communication between the President's office and internal departments; demonstrating leadership to maintain credibility, trust and support with senior management staff.

- Provide support and assistance to the President's Executive Directors and Directors with meeting arrangements including catering, agenda creation, minutes and follow-up.

- Create and maintain a system of communication to keep the President abreast of current issues.

- Responsibilities require the ability to complete multiple tasks with frequent interruptions to meet varying deadlines.

- Organize and carry out special events including invitations, hospitality and support.

- Successfully complete critical aspects of deliverables with a hands-on approach, including drafting acknowledgement letters, personal correspondence, and other tasks that facilitate the President’s ability to effectively lead the College.

- Establish and maintain a system of recordkeeping, both paper and electronic, for all documentation kept in the office of the President.

- Monitor all communication in and out of the office, including telephone, mail, email and in-person requests. Prepare and respond to correspondence.

- Serve on the President's Executive Leadership Team and other College committees as required.

- Perform other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Education: A Bachelors Degree from an accredited institution in a related field is required.

Minimum Experience : A minimum ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in a senior executive assistant role. Experience in higher education considered a plus. Experience in legal studies, paralegal, and/or law office administration preferred. Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe, PowerPoint, Teams, etc. required.

• Very strong interpersonal skills and the ability to successfully build relationships with stakeholders, including faculty, staff and students, board members, and the community.

• Expert level written and verbal communication skills.

• Demonstrated proactive approaches to problem-solving with strong decision-making capability.

• A high and appropriate level of emotional control and expression; ability to empathize with others, overcome challenges and diffuse conflict

•Highly resourceful team-player, with the ability to also be extremely effective independently.

• Proven ability to handle confidential information with a high level of integrity and professional discretion, be adaptable to various competing demands, and demonstrate the highest level of customer/client service and response.

• Demonstrated ability to achieve high performance goals and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment.

• Forward looking thinker, who actively seeks opportunities and proposes solutions.

• Current technology proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and other tools.

• May be required to work evenings or weekends.
