Specialist - Early Childhood Outreach Advisement

Position Category: Staff - Full-Time

Summary:
Support Child Care Quality System (CCQS) with outreach. Encourage Family Friend and Neighbor (FFN) and Residential Certificate programs to become fully licensed. Attend community outreach meetings to provide education and support for early childhood education throughout the service area. Facilitate transition from early childhood programs to kindergarten and from kindergarten to early childhood programs. Coordinate and run a center and family retention and recruitment cohort. This position will only be in place at CAC at UVU until June 30, 2023. Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree from a regionally accredited institution in child development or closely related field. Minimum of one year of experience owning, managing or director an early childhood program.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge
Knowledge of adult learners and training techniques, child care best practices, developmentally appropriate principles, and coaching and consultation techniques. They must also be familiar with owning and operating of a child care business and best business practices.
Skills
Basic computer skills, Effective communication both written and spoken. Detail oriented. Keen documentation skills. Good at tracking and keeping accurate records.
Abilities
Ability to build relationships with adults. Ability to effectively train and assist adults. Ability to plan and prioritize multiple tasks.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience of 3 or more years working in an early childhood setting as a director, trainer, or caregiver. At least one-year experience in training and /or supporting adults in care giving practices and their professional development. Additional experience with family child care would be helpful.

Physical Requirements:
This position performs work in a standard office setting as well as traveling to locations in various parts of the state to present information and meet with community members.
