University Enterprises Corporation at CSUSB ("UEC") supports the university's educational mission by providing quality services that complement the instructional program. The University depends upon UEC to provide services that cannot be supported with state funds. We're responsible for business enterprises on campus including, but not limited to, dining, bookstore, convenience store, and vending services. We also serve as the grantee for federal, state, and local funding for research and sponsored projects.

Position Summary

Temporary, part-time, non-benefited position through 6/30/2023 (Appointment may be renewed annually based upon availability of funds, availability of work and satisfactory job performance). Up to 2 positions available.

Location: San Bernardino, CA

Salary: $16.50 to $18.00 per hour.

Program Summary:

The California Arts Project (TCAP) is one of the nine California Subject Matter Projects. TCAP's leadership and development center, statewide office, is located on the campus of CSU San Bernardino and has a network of regional sites located across California on other universities. As the California State Subject Matter Project for the visual, media, performing, and career arts, TCAP's network of Teacher Leaders advocate for and strive to ensure access for all California students to a sequential, comprehensive, and exceptional standards based arts and career arts.

The network of TCAP regional sites and statewide leadership and development center is united in the mission of promoting standards based, equitable, and inclusive arts education for each and every California student. TCAP supports educators through research based, context specific leadership development, planning, and professional learning programs. TCAP collaborates with school and district educators to create and tailor professional learning programs and support for local priorities, needs, initiatives, and interests of students and communities.

The California Arts Project (TCAP) is a collaborative, statewide network of teachers and university scholars with the singular goal of expanding student access to and improving student artistic literacy development in dance, media arts, music, theatre, visual, and career arts. TCAP does this through designing and providing comprehensive, discipline-focused professional learning for educators, building educator leadership, and creating and nurturing collaborative networks of TK-12 educators and university faculty.

Work Schedule

15 hours per week. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 9:00AM to 2:00PM.

First Review Deadline

This position will remain open until filled. Applications will be reviewed beginning 6/1/2022.

Typical Activities

Under minimal supervision of the Executive Director, Program Coordinator, the Program Assistant will work independently to:
  • maintain electronic and physical files,
  • assist with program, meeting, conferences, and other activities preparation and post implementation support,
  • assist in preparation of reimbursements and university forms,
  • stocking and restocking of program supplies, materials, and equipment,
  • maintain orderly workspaces and program preparation areas,
  • program data entry,
  • answer phones,
  • edit documents,
  • and perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Applicant must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree is preferred.

Experience: Applicant must have a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.

Additional Qualifications: Applicant must: have highly effective oral and written communication skills with knowledge of correct English, grammar, spelling, and punctuation, be able to perform job duties with minimal direction, be able to follow oral or written instructions, be able to think creatively to resolve issues, must be proficient in using Mac/ Apple computers, possess through knowledge of office methods, procedures and practices as well as working knowledge of standard software such as Microsoft Word and Excel, have the ability to navigate the internet, handle confidential and sensitive information, and have experience in operating a fax machine and scanner, be able to work cooperatively with a diverse group of people, exercise sound judgement, determine priorities, complete assigned projects and tasks in a timely manner, and work well under tight and competing deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a high education or K-12 office setting,
  • Knowledge of arts education within K-12 settings,
  • Knowledge of California K-12 education,
  • Experience with Survey Monkey, Word Press, Canva, Adobe, and Illustrator

CSU policy requires all faculty, staff and students (on or off campus) to be immunized (i.e. vaccinated) against the virus that causes COVID-19.

As part of the campus community, CSUSB requires all UEC employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, or present a medical or religious exemption and any appropriate back up documentation. Fully vaccinated is defined as having the last immunization shot at least 14 days prior to the date being evaluated. Current and new employees of UEC are required to adhere to this policy by September 20, 2021 and remain in adherence after that date. All employees are also required to receive COVID booster shots to access any on or off campus location.
