Position Summary Information
Job Description Summary
This position serves as a senior instructor for the Summer Film Academy. The individual will be in charge of instructing and assisting the students in the program with workshops throughout the day and is expected to stay in the dorms at night. The position involves teaching at least one session during the camp and serving as a mentor to the students. This individual must have basic knowledge in all aspects of film production, must be available for the entire summer program, and be on-call when needed.
The individual must work well with high school-aged students, and must be reliable with regard to time management and doing projects independently. The SFA Instructor is responsible for the safety, health, and well-being of the students in their charge on a day-to-day basis. Other responsibilities may include driving students to and from activities, supervising students on field trips, and other duties as assigned by the lead instructor. The successful candidate must successfully clear a background check and will be required to complete sexual misconduct prevention training prior to the start of the program.

Responsibilities

- Teach one workshop on filmmaking
- Oversee 3 student productions
- Manage “welcome” activities on first day of program
Supervision
- Supervise students overnight in dorms
- Supervise students on field trips and other outings
- Oversee pick up/drop off for students arriving by place
- Organize and supervise production details for final projects
- Assist with supervision of other instructors as needed
- Organize room assignments in dorms for students and instructors
Projects
- Assist with any other issues that may come up during program
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
