Job Details
An entry-level lab technician position is available in the research laboratory of Dr. Priscila Sato in the Department of Pharmacology and Physiology at Drexel University. The Sato lab does research focused on cardiac research and metabolism. Position is dependent on satisfactory evaluation and extramural funding.
Essential Functions
- Technical work such as dissection, immunohistochemistry, cell culture, and in vivo studies, as well as molecular analysis including PCR
- Lab maintenance and upkeep
- Purchasing, cataloging, and shipping of lab reagents
- Maintain lab records
- Maintain lab safety protocols
- Support on maintaining animal colonies
- Support with human tissue experiments
- Support faculty, students and fellows associated with the Sato lab
- Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences
- Applicants must be adaptable, self-motivated, able to work independently, detail oriented, and have strong interpersonal skills
- Previous laboratory experience
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work well with a diverse group
- Experience working with mouse handling
- Typically sitting at a desk/table
- Typically standing, walking
- Lifting demands up to 25lbs
