Class Description
The purpose of this class is to provide digital fabrication administrative services, training, technical and instructional support to the students, faculty and staff in Art & Design.
Location of Positions:
Essex
Catonsville
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree, in art, design or related field with two (2) years of experience within a FabLab, maker space, or manufacturing environment. Art & Design teaching experience and training preferred.
Class Specific Essential Duties
- Oversee and ensure the safety of the studio and of the students
- Troubleshoot and maintain 3D printers, CNC routers, vinyl and laser cutters and software
- Inventorying and ordering supplies and materials
- Train students, full-time faculty, adjuncts, and staff in the mandatory safety course as well as all additional trainings and procedures for individual equipment and software
- Track equipment use and maintain equipment use logs for budgeting purposes
- Develop instructional materials that establishes training standards for equipment and tools
- Assisting and supporting faculty in the creation of projects utilizing digital fabrication tools
- Fulfill internal college project requests
- Perform in-class and supplemental instruction
- Support all aspects of digital fabrication instruction within the department

The Roth 403(b) savings feature is only offered by the following vendors: TIAA-CREF and VOYA Financial Advisors, Inc. Adjunct Faculty, Part Time Associates and Full Time employees are eligible to save for retirement using the Roth 403(b) savings feature. Employees may contribute traditional pre-tax 403(b) dollars and Roth 403(b) post-tax dollars simultaneously. The savings limits are combined for the Traditional 403(b) and the Roth 403(b) contributions.
- Deferred Compensation Plan — 457(b) offered through VOYA Financial Advisors, Inc. The 457(b) salary reduction authorization form is needed. The form is available on SharePoint Forms/Human Resources Forms.
