University Health Services (UHS) is looking for an experienced,
passionate leader for violence prevention on the UW-Madison campus.
UHS strives to promote, protect, and restore health and well-being.
We are an integrated health care facility that fully integrates our
prevention, medical, and mental health services. Within UHS, the
Prevention and Campus Health Initiatives teams committed to
creating a healthy and safe campus and community using public
health tools of data, communications, capacity building and policy,
systems and environmental change. This work is informed by our
values of empowerment, authenticity, creativity, data-informed
practice, and equity. This Assistant Director for Violence
Prevention will be one of three Assistant Directors focusing on
violence prevention, high risk drinking prevention and mental
health promotion. While your work will focus on reducing
relationship and sexual violence and misconduct on our campus and
in our community, as a team, we are all working together to reduce
the root causes of many of our campus' health concerns including
power, privilege, racism, and discrimination. Your team members
will work across all our issue areas in functional teams focusing
on data, communications, coalition building, training and
education, policy and health equity.
This position's primary responsibilities will include:
-Supervise a team focusing on capacity building, policy advocacy
and development, data, and communications.
-Serve as campus leader for violence prevention through membership
on campus committees and workgroups, available for consultation to
campus and community partners, and representation at public events
focused on violence prevention.
-Participate in the coordination of work ongoing at UHS related to
survivor services and violence prevention, including medical and
mental health services and advocacy.
-Provide leadership for the Prevention and Campus Health Initiative
teams by developing and aligning with a strategic direction for our
work, ensuring continuous quality improvement in our efforts, and
aligning our work with our efforts towards health equity.
