This Assistant Director for Mental Health Promotion and Suicide
Prevention will be one of three Assistant Directors in our unit,
focusing on violence prevention, high risk drinking prevention and
mental health promotion and suicide prevention. While your work
will focus on decreasing the risks of mental health issues and
suicide on our campus and in our community, as a team we are all
working together to reduce the root causes of many of our campus
health concerns including power, privilege, racism, and
discrimination. Your team members will work across all our issue
areas in functional teams focusing on data, communications,
coalition building, training and education, policy and health
equity.
This position's primary responsibilities will include:
-Supervise a team focusing on capacity building, policy advocacy
and development, data, and communications.
-Serve as campus leader for mental health promotion and suicide
prevention through membership on campus committees and workgroups,
availability for consultation to campus and community partners, and
representation at public events focused on the prevention of mental
health issues on campus.
-Closely work with Mental Health Services at UHS to ensure a full
continuum of services is available to campus in collaboration with
each other's work.
-Provide leadership for the Prevention and Campus Health
Initiatives teams by developing and aligning with a strategic
direction for our work, ensuring continuous quality improvement in
our efforts, and aligning our work with our efforts towards health
equity.
