Position Summary Information



Summary
To perform a variety of duties in support of Campus Store operations such as inventory management, shipping and receiving, customer service, and cashiering. May be required to work evenings and weekends and at off-campus locations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  1. Logs in received merchandise using store management applications and assures accurate receipt; inspect, report and track damages, discrepancies and shortages.
  2. Processes return of overstock, damaged and defective merchandise to vendor as assigned.
  3. Knowledgeable of basic shipping practices, regarding FedEx, USPS and LTL freight. Able to create FedEx shipping labels using FedEx.com, and complete freight Bills of Lading with various LTL carriers and oversee all inbound and outbound shipments.
  4. Assists in maintaining security of all merchandise within the stockroom and sales floor; maintain a clean, orderly, professional shipping/receiving area and stockroom.
  5. Takes the lead role with physical textbook inventory control, shelving of textbooks, textbook returns, and disposal of obsolete textbooks.
  6. Assists managing rental returns, and buyback textbooks are accurately tracked, sorted, and returned to vendor as needed.
  7. Maintains back-stock and overstock inventory is listed and maintained in store management software.
  8. Assists eCommerce team to ensure all online orders are processed, packaged, prepared for shipment or in-store pickup.
  9. Operates POS cash register and assist with customer service as needed.
  10. Assists with annual, and periodic, inventory counts and verification.
  11. Maintain stock of store supplies, including but not limited to bags, boxes, pricing labels, used book stickers, cash register supplies, and shrink-wrap materials.
  12. Additional duties and overtime may be required, as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position could be responsible for assigning work and/or giving direction to part-time Student Workers, in order to complete work assignments. Other Knowledge Skills and Abilities
  • Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications.
  • A thorough knowledge of: Business English and arithmetic; general office methods, procedures and practices.
  • Ability to read and write at a level appropriate to the duties of the position.
  • Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff and student body.
  • Strong organizational skills and detail oriented.
  • Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures.
  • Ability to develop and maintain record keeping systems and procedures.
  • Ability to resolve customer complaints and concerns.
  • Ability to investigate and analyze information and to draw conclusions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and sit; and requires sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate computer keyboard or other office equipment. Requires visual acuity to read words and numbers; and speaking and hearing ability sufficient to communicate in person or over the phone. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. WORK ENVIRONMENT : The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Work normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment, with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards. Education and/or Experience
Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experiences.
