Job Summary

Reporting to the Project Management Director, the Project Manager is responsible for facilitating the intake and prioritization of projects while providing effective project management governance and delivery of enterprise solutions. The Project Manager is responsible for their assigned project(s) as directed by the Project Management Director, including detailed project planning, project execution, and transition to operations.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Performance Requirements*
  • For assigned projects, serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders (campus and district administrators, affected faculty, and staff)
  • Address questions from stakeholders related to design, scope, schedule, risk, quality, resources, communications, stakeholders, and vendors for projects
  • Monitor project milestones and metrics to assess project progress and evaluate project quality; communicate this information in periodic status and progress reports to IT administrators, EPMO administrators, and Principle champions and stakeholders
  • Lead, direct, and be accountable for the overall performance of the EPMO Project Management processes
  • Plan, coordinate, and lead multiple, complex projects using project management practices, tools, techniques, and frameworks to manage and control projects throughout the project lifecycle
  • Deliver projects on time and within budget, quality, and scope definitions as defined by the EPMO Project Planning team and the EPMO Project Management Director
  • Proactively manage scope changes to minimize risk to project budget and schedule; influence scope change decisions and manages expectations on release dates with sponsors and other stakeholders
Service Excellence
  • Participates on behalf of the College in external community organizations and associations
  • Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
  • Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through the Tarrant County College ( TCC ) Institute
  • Supports the values of the College: diversity, teaching excellence, student success, innovation, creativity, and service to the College
  • Supports the mission, values and 3 goals, and 8 principles of the College
Supervision
Works under the general supervision of the Enterprise Project Management Office Leadership

Required Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Five (5) years of experience directly related to the Essential Performance Requirements
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree
  • Continued skill advancement through the learning of new technologies/methodologies and contributions to scholarly works (e.g. presentations, publications, etc.)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent customer service with exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lead and organize team efforts on large-scale projects
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment
  • Ability to think critically to effectively solve and communicate problems in a demanding environment where work is varied, and unpredictable in scope and volume
  • Ability to use a systematic and logic-based approach to problem-solving utilizing innovative/complex techniques
  • Ability to analyze data and provide sound recommendations based on policy, procedure, practice, and existing regulations
  • Ability to be detail-oriented, organized, and resourceful with the ability to complete projects with rapidly changing priorities.
  • Ability to interpret, find patterns, and derive meaning from the analysis of data
  • Ability to delegate work appropriately to faculty and staff to meet College and campus deliverables
  • Ability to use computer applications and enterprise systems including project management
  • Ability to use software (Smartsheet, MS Project), including proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software (e.g., Microsoft Office)
