Job/Department Summary:

Under the general direction of the Dean of the College of Engineering, the CIM Program Director works independently in leading the Concrete Industry Management Program (CIM) coordinating recruitment and retention of students consistent with the University's and College’s strategic plans. CIM Program Director works closely with the college leadership team, along with the Department Chairs, faculty, other staff, and students. The incumbent works with other university administrators to achieve common goals and outcomes.

Mandatory Vaccinations:

The CSU requires faculty, staff, and students who are accessing campus facilities to be fully immunized against COVID-19 or have received a medical or religious exemption. Selected candidates should be prepared to comply with this requirement.

Preferences:

Preference may be given to applicants with the following as they may be considered specialized skills:
  • Bilingual.
  • Prior leadership experience in concrete industry; or progressive experience in academic administration that includes management of fiscal resources, personnel resources, facilities, and/or research or academic program management and evaluation experiences.
  • Experience with accreditation and accrediting agencies.
  • Experience with curriculum design, program assessment, review and evaluation.
  • Leadership experience within Concrete Industry.
Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree required in a field related to Concrete Industry Management along with 10+ years of Concrete Industry Experience.

Time Base: Full-time


Pay Plan: 12/12

Work Schedule: Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm, Summer - Mon-Thurs 7:00-5:30.

Salary and Benefits Information:

Salary commensurate with background and experience of the individual selected. (Anticipated hiring range: $100,000 - $115,000 per year).

This position qualifies for benefits including tuition fee waiver (if eligible).

Additional Information:

This position is a Higher Education Employer-Employee Relations Act (HEERA) designated managerial position and comes under the Management Personnel Plan (MPP) of the California State University. Individuals appointed to management positions serve at the pleasure of the President or designee. They are excluded from the collective bargaining process, are not subject to probationary service, and do not receive tenure or permanent status. This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

The duties of this position will include participation in a decision that may have a material/financial benefit to the incumbent. Therefore, this is a “designated position” under the California State University’s Conflict of Interest Code and the incumbent will be required to file a Form 700: Statement of Economic Interest and is subject to the regulations of the Fair Political Practices Commission. (Group/Category: Department Chair / Asst or Assoc Dept Chair / Director, Assoc, Asst, or Program Director / Program Head [i], CAT-02).

The person holding this position is considered a “General Mandated Reporter” under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 (revised July 21, 2017) as a condition of employment.

A valid California driver's license must be maintained throughout employment in this position, as well as a successful completion and continued compliance of CSU Defensive Driving Course.

This position requires travel, evening, and weekend time commitments.
