This position will maintain and coordinate the T3 graduate training
program in Ecological and Environmental Informatics, funded by a
National Science Foundation (NSF) Research Traineeship (NRT) grant,
in support of the Informatics (INF) PhD program. The academic
Program Coordinator, Senior will ensure that the implementation of
policies and practices as well as contribute to the refinement of
such policies and practices.
They will conduct activities in support of program evaluation and
assessment, development and dissemination of program materials, and
coordinates with various stakeholders in the implementation,
assessment, and refinement of the T3 program. They will also
consult with the T3 Program Director on programmatic goals and
activities, but mainly works independently and has latitude with
decision making about the T3 program.

Program Operational Support - 60%
- Website maintenance and updates.
- Tracks graduate student funding.
- Tracks participation in program-sponsored activities.
- Helps to maintain INF graduate student handbook.
- Maintains meticulous records of T3 program activities,
meetings, events, student funding, communications among T3
- Maintains and updates documents on a Google share drive.
- Works with the SICCS Graduate Recruitment Committee to develop
and organize distribution of recruiting materials for (1) INF PhD
Program (Ecological & Environmental Informatics emphasis area)
and (2) new Graduate Certificate Program in Ecological &
- Coordinate the dissemination of program training and curriculum
materials, including (1) the on-line textbook and coding exercises
associated with the INF graduate-level course on “Advanced Survey
in Ecoinformatics Tools” and (2) A virtual library of resources
associated with the graduate-level INF course on “Team-based
Meeting Organization & Particiaption - 15%
- Organizes meetings and meets regularly with program
stakeholders, including Program Director, T3 graduate students,
Program Advisory Committee, External Evaluation Team, and External
- Prepares agendas and materials for such meetings.
- Keeps notes during meetings.
- Regularly attends NRT Program Coordinator meetings to learn
from programs around the country.
Event Planning - 10%
- Works with SICCS and CEIAS administrative staff to organize
events such as the T3 Annual Retreat, Program Advisory Committee
and External Advisory Board meetings,T3-sponsored workshops and
trainings, Recruitment Weekend for admitted T3 graduate students,
and NAU participation in the National NSF- NRT annual
NSF-Specific Requirements - 15%
- Attends and contributes to the annual NSF NRT annual
- Compiles, writes, and submits the Annual Report to the T3
Program Director, and ultimately NSF via the NRT reporting
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience.
- Any combination of relevant education and experience may be
substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Knowledge of the INF PhD program (e.g., curriculum, courses,
students enrolled) and the associated T3 program (e.g., unique
training elements, fellowship process, student roles and

course and experience with course content.

Northern Arizona University requires satisfactory results for the
following: a criminal background investigation, an employment

is combined with the Annual
Security Report for the NAU Flagstaff Mountain Campus as this
campus has on-campus student housing. This report discloses fire
safety policies and procedures related to on-campus student housing
and statistics for fires that occurred in those facilities. If you

Salary range begins at $47,634. Annual salary commensurate with
candidate's qualifications and related experience.
This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair
Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and therefore will not earn overtime or
compensatory time for additional time worked.
This is a Classified Staff (CLS) position. NAU offers an excellent

. Classified Staff
employees are in a probationary status for their first six months

Employees will have 31 days from their start date to enroll in
