Saint Mary's College seeks to hire a per-course adjunct faculty member to teach Perfa 75-02 (Dance Co. African Diaspora) in the Fall Term 2022

Fall Term 2022

PERFA 75-02 Dance Co. African Diaspora

Tuesday & Thursdays 9:45-11:20 am

.25 credit course (.66 faculty workload)

This course will be taught in person, on campus.

This course introduces students to the art of West African dancing from Ghana as well as providing the necessary skills and understanding for an appreciation of the artistic, athletic, and social qualities of dance. Throughout the course, students will learn various concepts surrounding dance including music, history of dance, culture, etiquette, and application in social settings as well as stage performances.


Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have several years of experience teaching West African Dance at the college level and be able to serve as the accompanist for the class as well.
