Position Summary:
Serves as a key team player within the Budget & Planning Office serving Auxiliary Services and multiple units within the Department of Finance and Administration. The Fiscal Technician II is primarily responsible for processing and reconciling financial transactions. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: collecting and compiling data to create general and routine reporting on transactions, maintaining financial records, provides administrative processing support and provides customer service for students, faculty, staff and customers in the Auxiliary Business Services office to support the shared service financial unit.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum 2 years professional work experience in bookkeeping, administrative support or office management that demonstrates ability to:
  • Interpret, apply and explain policies and procedures;
  • Research and compile financial information and prepare summaries and reports in a spreadsheet application;
  • Work independently and as part of a team in a customer service environment;
  • Edit and write business correspondence using proper grammar and punctuation as demonstrated in application materials;
  • Use computer software and applications for word processing, email, internet searches, and data organization by effectively managing a high volume of email;
  • Reconcile account statements and processing accounts payable transactions.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree or higher;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the University of Idaho’s BANNER database system, specifically the Finance and Human Resource modules, and the Administrative Procedures manual;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Missouri Book System software;
  • Knowledge of University of Idaho policies and procedures.


Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
Physical ability to:
  • Sit for long periods of time;
  • Tolerate repetitive hand motion;
  • Work at computer for long periods of time;
  • Occasionally stand, walk, bend, twist, stoop and climb stairs;
  • Lift, carry and/or otherwise move up to 25 pounds.
