Lead Custodian- 2nd Shift
Internal Position Title:
College of Lake County is seeking a Lead Custodian
to join our facilities department! Under the supervision of the
Shift Supervisor and/or Custodial Supervisor, the Lead Custodian
assists in supervision of custodians; maintains inventory records;
maintains cleanliness and sanitation of College campus.

High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum 3 years’ experience in
housekeeping and/or office cleaning. Ability to push, pull, lift,
and carry up to 50 lbs. on a frequent basis, and over 50 lbs. on an
occasional basis, with or without reasonable accommodations.
Continuously walking, sitting, or standing, frequent bending,
squatting, climbing, kneeling, and twisting. Ability to work on
lifts or ladders, with our without reasonable accommodations.
Effective communication skills. Ability to provide leadership to
staff and to follow instructions.
Associates degree preferred.

Summary of Essential Functions:
1)Assists in supervision of custodians on assigned shift, which
includes assigning duties, training and monitoring work
2)Maintains inventory records of materials and job schedules.
3)Cleans interior and exterior of buildings, which includes
sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, buffing, washing windows, etc.
4)Maintains knowledge of chemicals used by the custodial

washrooms, administrative offices, staff/faculty lounges, lunch
6)Assists in snow removal as needed.
7)Assists in room, activities, furniture and stage set-ups.
