Summary:
College of Lake County is seeking Adult Education tutors that will provide individualized learning assistance to students needing more help in obtaining their high school equivalency, language and/or math assistance to transition to college classes, improve language skills and/or obtain employments or meet requirements to obtain work credentials.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher.
The ability to communicate and interact effectively with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
Adult Education teaching experience.
Desired Qualifications:
ICCB Standards Training.
5 or more years of adult education teaching experience.

Special Instructions Summary: This is a part-time flex position and employment shall be on an at-will basis, the duration of which shall be in accordance with the needs of the College of Lake County. Part-time flex employees are not eligible to participate in any benefits program at the College, including tuition reimbursement, tuition waiver, health insurance or paid time off.
Pay Rate: $19.62

Work Schedule:
Varies with site hours and student needs Mondays - Saturdays and during the program hours of 8am -9:30pm with a maximum pf 20 hours..

Summary of Essential Functions:
1. Prepares individual lessons to tutor students in needed areas.
2. Assists students in using paper and electronic resources to meet their goals, obtain level gains and/or obtain their high school equivalency credential.
3. Leads study groups.
4. Completes required paperwork, attends tutor training meetings and participates in tutor evaluation procedures.
5. Works with onsite coordinators in scheduling and reports changes/important information to the Instructional Support Manager.
6. Performs other duties as assigned,
