Family Resource Specialist

- Responsibilities:
A Family Resource Program Coordinator typically:
- Promotes family-centered practices through development and implementation of workshops, conferences, retreats, resource fairs, webinars, podcasts, and blogs to families and/or professionals
- Supports families through identification of and linking to resources and services for themselves and their children with special needs
- Conducts ongoing formal and informal needs assessment of families and creates activities to meet those needs
- Works collaboratively with all Early Childhood stakeholders, including state agencies and their grantees
- Attends STARNET and other statewide meetings, workshops, conferences, and conducts on-site consultations
- Participates in statewide committees and/or advisory boards
- Participates in state activities and/or serves on state committees
- Stays abreast of changes and additions to federal and state relevant legislation
- Maintains standards of confidentiality compliant with HIPAA, FERPA, and privacy regulations
- Maintains records and write reports
- Participates in professional development opportunities annually
- Collaborates with other ISBE funded early childhood personnel through attendance at project and statewide meetings with cohorts
- Promotes STAR NET's training and funding opportunities
- Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree
- A parent, or primary caregiver, of a child who has or did have an IFSP or IEP
- A total of two (2) years (24 months) practical Early Intervention, Early Childhood, or Advocacy experience with children Birth-8 years of age
- Possession of a valid driver's license and the ability to travel, including some overnight stays
*Note: Master's Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1 year) of work experience. - Starting Salary: $3,538/month

This is a 12 month position with 60% appointment. $3,538/month is based upon full-time employment.
