Title: Temporary- TRIO PT Counselor

Position Summary: To assist program participants in accessing available services related to retention, graduation, and transfer. Guide students when needed to various resources that provide academic and/or psychological counseling. Manage a caseload of students through the program while supporting campus and community relationships.

Duties and Responsibilities: Provide support for seamless transition to college for first time freshmen, readmitted students, and non-traditional students, including 4-year transfer assistance and academic advising. Assist Manager with TRIO recruitment activities and the selection of program participants. Develop career and graduation plans for program participants. Offer group and individual counseling. Facilitate program seminars and workshops. Administer and interpret academic assessments and career inventories. Refer program participants as needed to other academic support services on campus. Assist Manager with completing the Annual Performance report (APR), generating academic progress reports, and summarizing program evaluations. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications: Master's degree in education, psychology, or related field. Five (5) years of experience in career planning, counseling, and leadership training. Three (3) years of experience working with low-income, first generation, and/or disabled students.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in advising and/or educational support in a college setting. Training in individual and group counseling.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Work Characteristics: Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Knowledge of administering and interpreting academic and career assessments. Good organizational skills and the ability to prioritize responsibilities. Strong communication skills.

Pay Rate: 20.00 - 20.00 per hour
