The Office of the Senior Vice President for Health Sciences (OSVPHS) seeks applicants for our Administrative Coordinator position. This role supports general operations by managing and serving as the initial contact and resource at the front desk. Welcomes visitors by greeting them, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries. Direct visitors by maintaining employee directories; giving instructions. Maintains security by following procedures. Provides customer service for faculty and staff and tends to all assignments, projects, and duties for day-to-day operations as needed. Performs a variety of duties that require independent discretion, judgment, and control over accuracy, neatness, and timeliness within established guidelines and procedures. Requires learning, knowledge, and application of VCU and OSVPHS policies and procedures. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:

– Serve as initial point of contact for customers. Answer phones and greet customers; ask routine questions to determine needed resources, make referrals, provide information on basic policies, procedures, and office services and programs.

– General office duties to include data entry with accuracy and timeliness; letters, forms, etc. as requested.

– Serve as building manager, handling service requests and other needs.

– Assist with providing customer service and assisting with meeting set-up and execution.

– Other duties as assigned by faculty and staff in the office.

Required Qualifications

– Ability to work independently and take initiative

– Excellent oral and written communication

– Prior customer service experience / training

– Friendly, positive attitude and dedicated, detail-oriented work ethic

– At least 2 years of related experience

– Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as an employee at VCU

Preferred Qualifications

– Knowledge of computers, software, and general office operations

– Understanding of VCU and OSVPHS

Salary Range: Commensurate with experience and qualifications
