Job Description:

Under minimal supervision, independently and in collaboration with others perform research and conduct a wide variety of standard laboratory procedures for projects; analyze data and interpret results; investigate, troubleshoot, and modify methods and procedures as necessary; may assist in designing experiments; may provide routine equipment maintenance as well as guidance/training to other department personnel; perform other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required or assigned.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• The Research Assistant II will be expected to maintain high-quality organization of all applicable data and scientific materials
• Meet regularly with the Principal Investigator to review generated data and discuss upcoming experimental strategy.
• Candidates should also be able to work interactively in a highly collaborative research environment.

Expected Salary:

Commensurate with experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skill and abilities have been attained. Requires 3-5 years experience. Candidates possessing a Master’s degree, 2+ years experience required.

Preferred Qualifications: A B.S. in biomedical science is required. Preference will be given to applicants with a strong background in animal husbandry and genetics (mouse and/or Drosophila) and behavioral testing. The successful applicant may also be involved in other activities including small molecule screening and biochemical and physiological assays. Special Instructions to Applicants:
