Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, the Coordinator supports the planning, development, and execution of research and projects related to identifying and fostering cross-disciplinary research collaborations within a network of NIDDK-funded research sites. The Coordinator provides technical and analytic support on specific projects; conducts tasks as assigned to enhance cross-pollination of ideas and research techniques across the network; assists in the development of initiatives to enhance the diversity of the biomedical workforce in the area of benign urology; assists in development and formatting of reports required for stakeholders, including development of graphs, tables, and figures that enhance reports; and assists in dissemination of results to investigators within the network and within the broader benign urologic research community. The Coordinator acts as a liaison between network investigators and the Principal Investigator and other staff as well as among and between the network investigators. The Coordinator represents the Principal Investigator at meetings and other events as required; these may include scientific meetings, departmental or institutional meetings, or public events.

Responsibilities:

Plans and coordinates the administrative, operational, outreach and promotional activities related to research studies that may be collaborative and independent. Serves as a subject matter expert.
  • 20% Coordinates the daily activities and contracts related to one or more research program(s)
  • 20% Assists in the development, coordination, and facilitation of trainings and workshops for internal and external audiences to disseminate research program developments and information
  • 30% Plans, develops, and implements processes and protocols to support research aims
  • 10% Serves as a unit liaison and subject matter expert among internal and external stakeholder groups, collaborates across disciplines and functional areas, provides program information, and promotes the accomplishments and developments of scholars and research initiatives
  • 5% Monitors program budget(s) and approves unit expenditures
  • 15% Develops policies, procedures, and institutional agreements on behalf of the program

Qualifications:

Previous experience coordinating research programs preferred. Strong organization and communication skills required.
