Applications are invited for appointment as Non-Tenure Track
Assistant Professor in the AIDS Institute of the Department of
, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.:
, to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year
fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to
funding availability and satisfactory performance.
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Microbiology or a
related discipline, with proven track record on HIV-1/AIDS and
SARS-CoV. Substantial research experience in studying the mucosal
immunology and immunopathogenesis of HIV/AIDS and coronavirus and
work experience in BSL-3 laboratories are required. Research
experience in HIV/AIDS and coronavirus non-human primate model
would be an advantage. The appointee is expected to work
independently; manage on-going research projects on emerging
infectious diseases, HIV/AIDS and coronavirus; and write scientific

The Department is heavily involved in the teaching of the following
undergraduate programmes: MBBS, BNurs, BPharm, BChinMed, BBiomedSc,
BDS; as well as postgraduate programmes: MMedSc, MPhil and Ph.D.
The Department’s main research focus is the emerging infectious
diseases including HIV/AIDS and coronaviruses.
