Position Summary
We invite enthusiastic, forward thinkers to instruct, engage, and inspire students in the Graduate School of Education. Candidates should have the ability to teach a range of online and seated undergraduate and, to a lesser extent, graduate courses in the academic disciplines associated with our four departments:
• Counseling, School and Educational Psychology
• Educational Leadership and Policy
• Learning and Instruction
• Information Science
Academic Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
• Deliver seated and/or online lessons to undergraduate and/or graduate students.
• Evaluate and grade student class work, assignments, papers, and/or quizzes/exams, providing effective feedback to guide student learning and success.
• Engage in the classroom, reply to emails/voicemails within 24 hours, and hold on campus/online office hours.
• Maintain knowledge in one’s own discipline-related area by participating in professional development.

Minimum Qualifications
For teaching undergraduate courses:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in relevant discipline/field
For teaching graduate and doctoral courses:
Master’s degree or equivalent in relevant discipline/field
Preferred Qualifications
• Possess a Master’s/PhD in education, counseling, or library science-related field, and one year experience with online and hybrid teaching and related methodologies.
• Be knowledgeable in multiple content areas and theoretical frameworks within stated discipline, as well as issues related to diversity and multiculturalism.
• Possess working knowledge of Blackboard, the learning management system at UB.
• Availability to work evening hours (for seated courses).
• Be recognized as exemplary instructor who has had evidence of reflective practice and experience working with diverse students.
