Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow in the School of Biological Sciences (Ref.: 515066), to commence as soon as possible for two years, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.

Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Molecular Biology, or a related field. Strong expertise in molecular biology and experience with mouse models of metabolic dysregulation is necessary. Research experience in neuroscience and cell biology is preferred. They should have independent research abilities with strong research interest, ambitious scientific goals, self-motivation, and the ability to work independently and cooperate with a team. Excellent communication and organization skills are also required.

The appointee will work under the supervision of Dr. Chi Bun Chan to study the mechanisms of metabolic regulation. Dr. Chan’s team uses modern molecular biology and biochemical techniques, proteomics/metabolomics, and transgenic/knockout mouse models to investigate the signaling pathways that regulate glucose and lipid metabolisms under physiological and pathological (e.g. obesity, type 2 diabetes, aging) conditions.
