Position Information

Position Title Assistant Director of Class Giving Overview
Manage all aspects of alumni reunion gift campaigns and non-reunion class fundraising efforts. Plan, implement, and manage class-specific fundraising and engagement programs and/or events, and serve as an annual giving/class giving representative on select committees, as assigned. Essential Duties:
1. Strategically identify, recruit, train, motivate, and supervise volunteers, which may include members of the Board of Trustees, managed prospects, and other high-level donors, to serve as class volunteers. Formulate class reunion giving and participation goals. Provide staff support, leadership, and overall direction to volunteer committees. Establish and develop relationships with lead alumni volunteers, guiding them through the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship process used in peer-to-peer outreach. Manage the execution of all solicitation assignments for volunteers. Develop appropriate communications essential to the attainment of class goals, including, but not limited to, training materials, conference calls, fundraising updates, etc.
2. Assist in securing reunion gifts from unmanaged prospects with a focus on increasing donations to The Fund for Providence College, PC’s annual fund. Leverage the reunion year as a solicitation strategy to increase commitments. Cultivate, solicit, and steward those prospects, which may include personal visits (in-person and virtual) for cultivation and solicitation purposes, as strategically appropriate. Determine and implement the strategies for engaging prospects and donors in ways that bring them closer to the College. In coordination with other fundraisers, craft and execute strategies for comprehensive giving. Summarize personal visits (in-person and virtual), outreach and communications, and proposal details via contact reports within the expected timeframe.
3. Direct efforts through research and screening to help identify prospects with the most significant giving potential. Utilize prospect management tools to prioritize activity and increase productivity. Collaborate with colleagues in annual giving, major gifts, athletics, and engagement to ensure the formulation and implementation of solicitation strategies for prospects in each class in order to maximize the outcome for the class fundraising effort. Identify and collaborate with volunteers to assist with the identification of prospects and/or joint solicitation.
4.Organize, manage, and implement the steps necessary to ensure the successful completion of new and existing class-based or team-based programs, projects, or events, including but not limited to trainings, webinars, and engagement events. In addition, serve as an annual giving/class giving representative on select internal planning committees. Collaborate with development, alumni relations, engagement, college events, and other campus partners to accomplish program, project, or event objectives. Marginal Duties:

1. Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution required
2. Three to five years of the previous fundraising or similar experience at a university or other comparable organization or equivalent professional experience in sales, marketing, training, or public relations
3. A highly motivated, self-starter who is goal-oriented with the ability to work independently
4. Some travel expected
5. Strong interpersonal, communication, management, and motivational skills.
6. Comfort in dealing with a wide range of College constituencies
7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
8. Solid analytical, decision making, and problem-solving skills
9. Strong computer skills with experience using a CRM database, word processing, and spreadsheet applications
10. Ability to handle highly confidential prospect information
11. Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills
