Essential Functions (Job Duties)
Key areas of responsibility of the Assistant Dean, Student Affairs include Enrollment and Outreach, Program and College Support, Student Support and oversight of the Office of Student Affairs
Develop and direct college enrollment management plan.
Collaborate with college administration in development of implementation of programs and curriculums.
Proactively communicate, advise and assist student regarding progression.
Direct, plan, coordinate and provide academic advising through individual and group counseling efforts.
Cultivate a highly service-minded culture to provide excellent customer service, create clear communications, inspire, motivate and hold accountable OSA personnel to achieve the same.
Develop and/or implement processes that integrate with university resources and campus communications to improve consistency of service to prospective and current students, customers and partners.
Develop, implement, direct and coordinate academic support and programs to meet the academic, personal, and career needs of pre-professional and matriculated students in the college.
Monitor and evaluate programmatic and operational effectiveness of the Office of Student affairs and work collaboratively with college administration and university departments to effect changes required for improvement.
Coordinate student affairs activities within the college and with other university units including, but not limited to, Admissions, Alumni Relations, Career Services, Dean of Students and Development, Registrar, Financial Aid and University Advising.
Unique Duties
Qualifications
1. Bachelor degree, or higher, in related field or equivalent level of education and experience
2. Demonstrated strategic thinker in the partnership of student affairs and its collaborative partners within an academic setting to achieve the academic mission
3. Previous leadership experience required i.e. setting goals, communicating, building trust, holding people accountable
4. Previous management experience required including hiring, performance management, team building
5. Strong interpersonal communication skills including the ability to communicate with individuals in organizations outside of the University
6. Previous experience working with student advising, admission and/or development in higher education academic setting
7. Knowledge of university systems software that track student admission, progression and performance
