About the Opportunity

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders within the Bouve College of Health Sciences is seeking a 52-week full-time non-tenure track open rank Clinical Professor and Clinic Director. The Clinic Director of Speech-Language Services (“SLP Clinic Director”) will manage all speech-language pathology elements of the on-campus Speech-Language & Hearing Center (“the Center”), as well as oversee all aspects of graduate student education in the Center. Primary responsibilities include quality teaching and supervision, administration, program development, and service, to position the Center as an innovative leader in clinical education.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Teaching and advising responsibilities for this position will include, but are not limited to: assign and monitor all clinical education opportunities and progression for students placed in the Speech-Language & Hearing Center; supervise of students during the process of provision of clinical services, including reviewing of documentation, debriefings, and ongoing meetings; teach courses for the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders; participate in assigned University, College, and Departmental committees and related Departmental activities; participate in professional organization activities and conferences to maintain clinical and leadership competence and promote the department, program, and Center.

Operational and administrative responsibilities for this position will include, but are not limited to, oversee and coordinate all daily operations of the Speech-Language and Hearing Center, including intake and scheduling of clients for evaluation and intervention services and records maintenance; oversee and monitor student clinical and medical clearance for participation in activities in the Center; implement and ensure compliance with established policies & procedures- institute new policies as needed; maintain ASHA CFCC compliance regarding student eligibility and implementation for clinical training & CAA compliance for clinical aspects program accreditation; maintain quality control of SLP clinical services in the Center, and ensure compliance with Department of Public Health (DPH) regulations; ensure implementation and compliance of HIPAA, Infection Control, and all related university regulations for all aspects of operations; develop and implement innovative clinical programs to increase the variety and diversity of clinical opportunities provided in the Center and support student needs, and expand services within the university and community; Oversee and manage all equipment, software, and platforms used in the Center (e.g., TIMS, VALT, Canvas, OneDrive, Microsoft Teams).

QUALIFICATIONS
  • PhD or Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology by appointment start date.
  • Minimum of 7 years' clinical experience and 5 years' experience providing clinical supervision by the appointment start date.
  • ASHA Certification and MA State Licensure


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 3-5 years of administrative experience preferred, but not required
  • Teaching experience in higher education and leadership experience preferred but not required.
