Job Summary: The Doctor of Physical Therapy program is searching for a .75 FTE, 12-month contract faculty position who will also be the Assistant Director of Clinical Education. Depending on the candidate's experiences and professional goals, we offer several different possibilities for faculty rank. Applicants should be educators, practitioners, and scholars. The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong teaching and clinical experience, be committed to working with clinical partners outside of the University, and will join our current faculty who are dedicated to maintaining and advancing the Simmons Doctor of Physical Therapy program's strong national stature, ranking, and impact in the 21st century. Primary Responsibilities: The faculty member will assist the Director of Clinical education in coordinating and evaluating the clinical education component of the curriculum, and teach assigned courses. Courses will be determined based on Departmental need, and candidate expertise. The faculty member is expected to advise and mentor students, participate in curriculum development, and serve on departmental, college, and University committees as appropriate.

Qualifications:
  • A doctoral degree (DPT, PhD, EdD, ScD, etc.) in physical therapy or related field is required;
  • Active, unrestricted license to practice physical therapy in any United States jurisdiction;
  • 3 years of clinical physical therapy practice with preferred experience as a SCCE (Site Coordinator for Clinical Education), or at minimum as a CI (Clinical Instructor); and
  • 3-­5 years of physical therapy teaching experience in an area of clinical or research expertise.
