Job Summary:

The University of Wisconsin System is transforming the administrative infrastructure within the University system at its 13 campuses. The overall transformation is a people, process, policy, and technology initiative which will include business process standardization, optimization, and redesign in the areas of finance, human resources, and research administration (Huron Research Suite 9.2), and will include an implementation of Workday to support the changes. The overall objective of the Administrative Transformation Program (ATP) is to right-size the administrative complexity to advance the missions of education, research, and outreach.

As part of this effort and in preparation for a new ERP, the University is hiring a Workday Testing Design Team Lead. The Testing Lead will participate in and oversee program testing strategy, plans, tool selection, metrics and reporting along with testing scenario development. This individual may also act as the point of contact between function design teams, consultants, and other project groups.

Responsibilities: Consults with stakeholders throughout the institution in support of addressing priorities and solves complex problems while ensuring alignment with institutional goals.
  • 20% Provides consultation, advice, and expertise to stakeholders to identify and solve problems
  • 10% Coaches and advises leaders on building organizational capacity and navigating change management
  • 20% Conducts gap analyses and develops approaches, strategies, and structures for achieving desired outcomes
  • 10% Designs and delivers meetings, retreats, and other engagements to assist clients in aligning organizational goals and resources
  • 20% Conducts analysis in support of projects and requests, utilizing independent judgment in selecting information for developing models for consideration
  • 20% Actively contribute to and participate in Design Team activities.

Qualifications:

Required:
1. Minimum of three years experience in a similar ERP testing role.
2. Knowledge of best practices for and experience with test strategy creation, test planning, test scenario creation, testing tools, defect management/triage and reporting progress to key stakeholders.
3. Ability to demonstrate an understanding of the test phase life cycle, and the principles of testing and defect management.
4. Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.

Preferred:
1. Experience on an ERP implementation, Workday preferred.
2. Understanding of cross function business processes, security, and integrations.
3. Experience with ETL testing and data quality.
4. ISTQB or similar testing certification.
5. Experience with Jira, Testrail, or similar test management software.
6. Knowledge of higher education, and or the UW System and UW-Madison environment.

Additional Information:

Anticipated duration of this position is 3-4 years. End date is dependent upon project completion.
