Department Information: The Department of Information Technology has programs that prepare students to solve problems and apply new technologies within an increasingly interconnected and changing global environment. They emphasize career success through lifelong learning and professional development at all levels of the curriculum. The Department offers a Bachelor of Science (BSIT), Master of Science (MSIT), and Doctor of Science (DScIT) in Information Technology. Middle Georgia State’s Bachelor of Science in Information Technology program is accredited by ABET.  MGA is also designed as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education (CAE-CDE) by the National Security Agency

Job Summary: The Department of Information Technology within the School of Computing at Middle Georgia State University is seeking candidates for an Assistant Professor of Information Technology. This is a ten-month tenure track which involves teaching, scholarship, and service.

Responsibilities: Teaching responsibilities will be at the undergraduate and graduate level (Master and Doctoral) programs. Candidates should be able to teach a variety of IT cores and elective courses within the IT program (http://www.mga.edu/it). Teaching responsibilities may include day and/or evening classes. Travel between campuses (Cochran, Dublin, Macon and Warner Robins) will be required. Online teaching experience is required. In addition to teaching, job requirements include service to the institution; and an active research and scholarly activities leading to publication in peer-reviewed journals.

Required Qualifications: 

 

  • PhD or equivalent in IT or management related disciplines. 
  • Reasonable record of teaching and scholarship that warrants appointment at the rank of assistant profess
