Job Description

MU Division of Finance & Business Services has overall responsibility for creating a financial environment on campus that meets our fiduciary responsibilities, demonstrates stewardship and meets all of our regulatory requirements. This position is 40 hours per week and will provide administrative support to a variety of projects and functions that serve the business and finance campus community including administrative support, training programs, efficiency and effectiveness projects, and website content maintenance.

Responsibilities

80% Provide administrative assistance with a variety of other projects and initiatives including:
• Provide front office customer service and administrative support. Support for the Vice Chancellor, Assoc. Vice Chancellor and Business and Finance Directors.
• Must ensure professional written and verbal communication skills, high level of organization, and ability to forecast needs relative to the work being supported.
• Serve as purchasing agent for the Division.
• Coordinate meetings and schedule logistics. Attend meetings, record/edit/distribute minutes, and follow-up with committee members regarding action items and deadlines.
• Prepare correspondence for the division.
• May provide back-up to other office staff in the Division of Finance & Business Services.
• Provide assistance on critical projects including researching background information, gathering historical data, forecasting needs, analyzing information, summarizing results, and providing necessary financial or organizational information for decision making.
• Develop and maintain spreadsheets, written reports, and PowerPoint presentations; maintain databases and support websites updates;
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality at all times.

10% Assist Cashiers in processing student payments and customer support. May also include support to answer general accounting and contract questions.

10% Assist Policy and Process projects including:
• Work closely with the BPPM Policy Administrator to ensure policy and procedures meet document standards, are in compliance with system-wide policies and are effective for campus-wide use.
• Assist the training team and trainers, providing training assistance as needed.
• Assist with campus vending issues.

As with all positions, involvement with other duties and responsibilities may be expected in order to support the mission and priorities of the University of Missouri.

Salary

$16.92 - $30.68/hour

Grade: GGS 8

Typical hours 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday-Friday

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

• Excellent written communication skills.
• Experience which demonstrates customer service and team work skills.
• Experience with websites, training software, webinars, video editing, etc. helpful.
• Service-oriented, deadline-focused individual with impeccable public relations and interpersonal skills
• Self-starter and team player
• Flexible; able to handle multiple projects with competing deadlines and interruptions
• Demonstrated excellent attention to detail and independent follow through with responsibilities
• PeopleSoft or equivalent experience helpful
