Job Description







The MU College of Arts & Science seeks a passionate and experienced professional staff member to assist a subset of academic departments under Portfolio 1 to manage their chair support activities. In addition, the person in this position will be the point of contact for prospective students and provide graduate student and department/academic support.

Position Overview:

Graduate Program Management
  • Prospective/New Student Communications
  • Recruitment
  • Student Applications
  • Fellowships
Current Graduate Student Support
  • Graduate Student Coordination/Support
  • Permission codes, TA assignments, Slate/graduate admissions,
reappointments, admissions acceptance emails, statement of employment letters

Department/Academic Support
  • Course Scheduling
  • Website
  • Course Evaluations
  • New Graduate Student Orientation
Promotion & Tenure
  • Monitor timeline and remind Chairs of due dates
  • Monitor case packet as Candidate is uploading information
  • Maintain and complete confidential spreadsheet of external reviewers for Chair
  • Send case packet to external reviewers using myVITA when Chair/Director agrees packet is ready
  • Complete myVITA case requirements before sending on to College of A&S
Chair Support
  • Update Chair and department Outlook calendars (as needed)
  • Faculty search itineraries
  • Meeting minutes


Salary

Salary commensurate with education and experience.

Salary Range: $16.92 – $23.80/ hour

Grade: GGS-008

University Title: EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT

8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Monday-Friday

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
