ATTENTION:

The College of Business and Economics at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater seeks a Marketing Specialist.

Academic staff positions are provided fixed term appointments with annual renewals unless otherwise noted. Reappointment for subsequent terms is dependent upon performance, university funding and external forces

JOB DETAILS:

The College of Business and Economics at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater is the largest AACSB accredited business school in the state of Wisconsin with an enrollment of over 4,600 students in 20 unique majors covering undergraduate, masters, and doctoral programs. Working under the supervision of the Director of Marketing, the Marketing Specialist will assist in the creation, production, strategy, and maintenance of internal and external marketing materials.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications
  • 3 years of work experience in marketing or related field
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Ability to work as a key team member
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Clear and engaging writing style
Desired Characteristics:
  • Ability to plan, produce, and execute marketing plans
  • Demonstrates a creative approach to idea generation, strategy development, and execution
  • Experience in digital marketing strategy and tactics
  • Experience managing social media accounts
  • Project management experience
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented; excellent time management skills
  • Willingness to learn new software
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Willingness and ability to be an active participant in the following applicable safety rules and regulations including necessary training drills
  • Ability to interact respectfully with people from diverse socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist the Marketing Director in the execution of a comprehensive marketing plan for the College of Business and Economics (COBE)
  • Analyze market data to provide insight and make actionable recommendations
  • Generate reports on website performance and social media engagement
  • Update and optimize content on the COBE website
  • Manage COBE social media channels
  • Write news releases that highlight successes and raise awareness for COBE
  • Develops, implements, and maintains strategic marketing plans based on research and established strategies
  • Develops, implements, and disseminates marketing materials through various communication mediums utilizing appropriate technologies and techniques
  • Collects, analyzes, prepares, summarizes, and disseminates data and trends relevant to ongoing or future marketing activities
