Alfred University seeks an experienced Director of Alumni and Constituent Engagement who will work collaboratively with the Vice President of University Advancement to plan, organize, and implement the University's alumni and constituent engagement efforts. Managing a team of engagement and annual giving colleagues, the Director of Alumni and Constituent Engagement will create and implement a strategic plan for the engagement of alumni, parents, faculty, staff, students and friends through events, marketing and communications, volunteer management and expanded digital engagement efforts. The Director will have direct oversight over alumni relations, reunion, homecoming, regional programming, volunteer management, annual giving, and affinity engagement efforts.

Responsibilities:

Create and manage the overall strategy for alumni and constituent development:
  • Enhance and expand signature and regional event strategy to deepen engagement efforts
  • Create and enhance volunteer and mentor opportunities for alumni, parents, and other constituents
  • Direct liaison to Alumni Council
  • Develop annual fund strategy to increase unrestricted and restricted giving to Alfred University
Other
  • Supervise event specialist, annual fund manager and assistant.
  • Document, maintain and update department policies and procedures.
  • Oversee divisional computer needs and lease replacements.
Requirements:
  • Formal Education: Bachelor's Degree required
  • Experience: 5+ years in higher education advancement
  • Five or more years proven experience in Alumni Relations, Annual Giving or Constituent Development, preferably in a university setting.
  • Ability to handle many fundraising and alumni relations activities simultaneously with creativity and independence.
  • Ability to manage time and priorities to respond to and meet deadlines, and adaptable to changing priorities. Outstanding organizational and analytical skills.
  • Excellent oral and presentation skills, writing and editing skills.
  • Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community.
  • Ability to interact effectively with a broad range of constituents, inspiring donors, faculty, and others to take action and ensure a rewarding experience.
  • Deep appreciation and understanding of the University and the ability to articulate academic goals and values with an ethnically and culturally diverse community.
  • Knowledge of fundraising databases and Microsoft Office suite.
The salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
