Specialist - Data and Resource Counselor

Position Category: Staff - Full-Time

Summary:
UVU is seeking a specialist for Care About Child Care. This position will be responsible for entering and updating data. Keeping all program data current. Answering the main phone line. Assisting walk-in clients. Organizing and preparing monthly resource nights. Responsible to organize and maintain the front office and classroom. Support providers through the regulation process. Assist with community events. Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
1 year related experience.
Good communication skills both written and verbal.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of early childhood gained from paid professional experience working in the early childhood field.
  • Working knowledge of computer programs and systems.
  • An understanding of early childhood developmentally appropriate practices and and awareness of the Care About Childcare website.
  • Computer skills including Excel, email, Word documents, and data entry.
  • Professional communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Prior paid professional experience in the childcare field.
  • Ability to learn new computer skills.
  • Flexibility with work schedules and job requirements.
  • Ability to organize computer data.


Preferred Qualifications:
Associates in early childhood or related field ; CDA; and/or Level 4-10 on the Utah Career Ladder system.
Ability to communicate both verbal and written in Spanish.

Physical Requirements:
Work is performed in a normal office environment.
