Program Director, Physician Assistant Program

The Gannon University Physician Assistant Department located at the Erie; Pennsylvania campus seeks a Program Director. The appointment for this 12-month position begins July 1, 2022, or upon hire. Gannon University faculty work collaboratively with colleagues, deliver instruction, advise students, engage in scholarship, and participate in service. The Physician Assistant Program at the Erie, Pennsylvania campus has a longstanding history of educating outstanding physician assistants who impact patients' lives daily. Established more than 40 years ago, the Physician Assistant Program is committed to health, education, advocacy, and leadership. The successful candidate will be responsible for the provision of education to students, administration of the program, including adherence to ARC-PA Standards of Accreditation, policies, and procedures, and the continued evolution of the Physician Assistant Program including preparing motivated students intellectually, professionally, and personally. The Program Director will teach 12 credits in the academic year and work closely with the Department Chairperson to perform necessary operations for the optimal function of the program.
The successful candidate must provide evidence of a minimum of three years of full-time higher education experience, including demonstrated evidence of effectiveness in teaching and advising, including curriculum development, scholarship, and a commitment to service. Candidates must possess strong communication, leadership, problem-solving, and organization skills. The successful candidate must have a master's degree and be a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program. Candidates must hold current or emeritus National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) certification and hold or be eligible for Pennsylvania licensure as a PA. Candidates must be able to support and promote the University's inclusive Mission, its Catholic identity, and its liberal arts and professional education traditions.
