About the Opportunity:
The Department of Philosophy and Religion in the College of Social Sciences and Humanities and the Bouve College of Health Sciences at Northeastern University invite applications and nominations for an Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor position, tenured/tenure-track, in the area of Ethics and Healthcare, broadly construed to include research ethics, clinical ethics and/or public health ethics, with a focus on ethical issues related to the design and implementation of novel technologies, including but not limited to ethical issues raised by AI and big data analytics, synthetic biology, robotics, and neurotechnologies.

Responsibilities:
The person filling this position will teach foundational courses in healthcare ethics, advanced courses in their area of expertise, and contribute to joint curriculum initiatives between philosophy and health sciences.

Candidates should have demonstrated commitment to fostering diverse and inclusive environments as well as to promoting experiential learning, which are central to a Northeastern University education.

Qualifications:
A PhD in philosophy or a related discipline is required by the appointment start date. The successful candidate will have a strong scholarly record or research program on ethical issues related to healthcare and/or public health, as well as excellence in or demonstrated commitment to undergraduate teaching.
