About the Opportunity:
The Gallaway Lab in the Department of Chemical Engineering is
seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate. The primary research
objective is to develop practical solid electrolyte Li-ion
batteries. The resulting batteries will have high energy density
and low flammability, with a form factor appropriate for the final
application. Production of composite electrodes by additive
manufacturing is one focus. Subsequent analysis and
characterization of the batteries will guide development.
Assist in initiating, executing, and completing clinical research
and experiments (60%)
Prepare and write research papers, presentations (20%)
Laboratory management (10%)
Train graduate students (10%)
The applicant should have a PhD in chemical engineering, chemistry,
materials science, or a related field. The applicant should be well
acquainted with electrochemical systems and battery electrode
fabrication. Funding is DOD, and US Citizen or US Person status is
Experience with solid electrolytes is highly recommended.
Experience in advance materials characterization methods.
Experience working in a multi-disciplinary research
Ability to write and present effectively.
