VIRGINIA TECH – Instructor. Assistant Director of Choirs. Full-time, 9-month contract. Salary commensurate with training and experience. Start Date: August 10, 2022.
Job Description
Conduct choral ensembles, teach first-year class piano, and contribute to student recruitment efforts. Additional duties depend on the qualifications and interests of the applicant and the needs of the Music program. Serve on committees and perform other appropriate university service.
Required Qualifications
• Master’s degree in music
• Fluent keyboard skills
Preferred Qualifications
• Doctorate in music
• College teaching experience as a Choral Conductor
• Accreditation/Cognate in keyboard performance and/or pedagogy
We seek candidates with the demonstrated potential to contribute effectively to a faculty team dedicated to creating a positive, dynamic, and inclusive learning environment for an increasingly diverse student population.
Qualified candidates should submit a cover letter, CV, unofficial graduate transcripts, names and contact information of 3 references, links to choral conducting performance and rehearsal videos (10–15 minutes of each), and if possible, links to brief recording example(s) of piano performance (solo or collaborative, video or audio files) this is preferred, but not required).
