Summary
This position is located within IQuESt, the Center for Innovations in Quality, Effectiveness and Safety. We are the largest center for Health Services Research within the Southwest. We conduct high-quality scientific research that improves the health of patients across the nation, by helping to ensure the patient-centered delivery of scientific discoveries. As an Associate with IQuESt, you will have the opportunity to transform healthcare by analyzing, designing, developing and implementing information systems that enhance individual and population health outcomes, improve patient care, enable research projects and strengthen the clinician-patient relationship.
Position entails gathering business requirements for assessing information needs to utilize any products out of Data Warehouse/ Data Mart, as well as ensuring that existing reporting solutions are functioning properly. Specifically, this position involves working on analyzing the ICD, CPT and LOINC codes for lung cancer, colorectal cancer, breast cancer, hepatocellular carcinoma and bladder cancer electronic triggers. The successful candidate will have exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, be regarded as a team player, have strong and proven organizational skills, and have a personal drive to be their best.
Job Duties
- Conducts research by providing clinical informatics perspective during research project ideation, conducting literature reviews and contributing to research design, papers, abstracts and grant applications.
- Reviews, evaluates and analyzes patient charts in the EHR using clinical informatics and clinical knowledge to identify diagnostic errors. Manages, mines and cleans data in electronic databases.
- Validates electronic triggers for machine learning and measure developments projects.
- Extracts and analyzes clinical information from EHR data.
- Analyzes of ICD, CPT and LOINC codes for electronic triggers.
- Streamlines and improves survey design using Qualtrics platform.
- Contributes methodological expertise in applied clinical informatics.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Two years of relevant experience.
- Advanced degree in a related field.
- Experience working with SQL Server, Oracle, API, JSON, and EHR.
- Azure, AWS, API Development, and/or SQL Server certifications.
