Clinical Social Worker - Part Time

Learning Resource Program

JOB SUMMARY:

Provide supportive counseling to students; serve as a member of the assessment team; serve as a member of the recruiting team.

REPORTS TO: Associate Director

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
  1. Provide individual counseling sessions to students, both virtually and face to face, with a focus on managing mental health issues, adjustment to college life, and executive functioning coaching.
  2. Maintain an assigned caseload of 20 students.
  3. Provide Psychoeducational Parent Workshops.
  4. Provide as facilitator or co-facilitator student social and psychoeducational groups and workshops.
  5. Consult with clinical educators and administration on issues related to students.
  6. Prepare diagnostic/ clinical assessment evaluations.
  7. Maintain electronic records on student progress.
  8. Attend weekly supervisory meetings with the Associate Director.
  9. Attend Friday monthly group supervisory meetings with the social work team.
  10. Attend Friday morning mandatory staff meetings.
  11. Provide information for prospective students and families when needed.
  12. Attend team meetings, family meetings and interventions with other departments as needed when pertaining to students on caseload.
  13. Attend Division monthly meetings and related Division functions if it coordinates with work days assigned.

REQUIREMENTS (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
  1. Excellent clinical and interpersonal skills.
  2. Knowledge of learning disabilities and AD/HD.
  3. Psychiatric Assessment/ Diagnostic Skills
  4. Ability to relate to and engage young adults and their families.
  5. Individual and Group Work experience.
  6. Good computer skills: Administrative System, Microsoft Word, Excel, Zoom, google docs.
  7. Ability to maintain confidentiality while effectively providing guidance and direction to the educational team when needed.

EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  1. 1. New York State LMSW or related New York State degree.
  2. 2. NYS Limited Permit is acceptable pending successful attainment of LMSW within six (6) months of hire.
  3. 3. Two to three years of job-related clinical experience preferred.
  4. 4. Recent SW graduates with clinical experience will be considered.
