Summary/Objective

Research Assistant is responsible for assisting PI Stefano Costanzi in the development of a prototype of a cheminformatics tool intended to support chemical nonproliferation - the Nonproliferation Cheminformatics Compliance Tool (NCCT). During the period of the project, the prototype will be tested by select jurisdictions and the Research Assistant will be responsible for providing assistance with various phases of the project including working on the compilation of the manual, video and live demonstrations of the prototype, and providing support to the testing jurisdictions using the prototype.

Essential Functions
  1. Implementation and Support - Provide support to the testing jurisdictions for the installation and use of the NCCT prototype for the entire duration of the installation and testing period.
  2. Feedback and Improvements - Collect feedback from the testing jurisdictions and identify any issues with the NCCT prototype and assist with implementing technical solutions for issues identified.
  3. Writing and Editing - Assist with the compilation of a manual booklet for the testing jurisdictions with instructions on the use of the NCCT prototype and a list of known issues.
  4. Demonstrations and Tutorials - Record video tutorials and conduct live demonstrations on the use of the NCCT prototype for the testing jurisdictions of the prototype cheminformatics tool.
  5. Other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a closely related field required.
  • 1-3 years of work experience in a laboratory or other research setting required.
  • Experience with cheminformatics
  • Experience with international mechanisms for chemical weapons nonproliferation
