Landmark College seeks an Assistant Professor in Writing beginning Fall 2022.  This is a great opportunity to be a part of a College whose mission is to transform the way students learn, educators teach, and the public thinks about education. The successful candidate will be able to teach a range of required composition courses and will hold specific interest and expertise in the area of developmental writing. The successful applicant will have a background in writing pedagogy and theory and will be able to adjust instructional approaches to meet the needs of developing, emerging, and skillful writers. Understanding that writing is both an activity and a subject of study, the successful candidate will collaborate with faculty to support writing across the curriculum initiatives. Opportunities to collaborate on the design of writing intensive courses will be available.

QUALIFICATIONS:  A doctoral degree in Composition and Rhetoric or a related field is preferred (master’s degree considered).  A record of scholarship in the area of writing pedagogy and practice a plus, especially as it pertains to marginalized communities.  A working understanding of the nature of specific learning disabilities and teaching experience at the college level is highly desirable, preference is given to faculty with experience in the area of developmental writing and student transition to higher education.  A desire to work with students who have a diagnosed learning disability, ADHD, or Autism Spectrum disorder is preferred.
