Job Description:

KCU has an opening for an Admissions Recruiter in the Admissions Department. This position assists in the attainment of student recruitment goals; plans and executes a variety of student recruitment related programs and/or events; executes recruitment strategies; and helps with the execution of on campus events in Joplin and the main campus in Kansas City.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrated poise, competence, and professionalism in addressing large groups of people and/or leadership constituents
  • Ability to multi-task, balance multiple projects in stressful situations and with frequent interruption, yet, able to perform assignments accurately, attain deadlines, and maintain positive relations
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate small to large meetings, while providing excellent customer service
  • Excellent follow-through skills required
  • Ability to utilize word processing, spreadsheets, and databases
  • Helps with the execution of recruitment events of both the Joplin and Kansas City campus
  • Willing and available to travel, with the heaviest concentration of travel occurring in the fall and spring equating to approximately 50% of the time
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Two years of Admissions and/or Student Affairs experience in an academic institution of higher education with involvement in recruiting an underrepresented population. Preference given to those with experience recruiting for a health profession
  • Must maintain on-going, insurable driving record
  • Excellent oral/written communication and presentation/public speaking skills.
  • Requires ability to maintain computerized record keeping systems
  • Must have excellent organizational skills, be detail-oriented, a self-starter, and able to work independently and/or under minimum supervision
