Job Description

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Women’s Health is seeking an energetic and passionate Physician Assistant to join our growing, innovative team in the Division of Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstruction Surgery.

Our Department’s talent teams include Attending Physicians, Resident Physicians, Advance Practice Practitioners, Nurses, Clinical Administrative Coordinators, Research Faculty and Education Coordinators. The ideal candidate will play an instrumental role in the success of sustaining our department’s mission: advance the clinical, research and teaching components of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Women’s Health at the University of Missouri.

This position will partner with our clinical and research faculty and staff teams to support the overall culture of fostering continuous improvement in the Clinical, Teaching and Research space.

Position overview:
Conduct comprehensive health assessments and demonstrate a high level of autonomy and expert skill in the diagnosis and treatment of actual and potential health problems.
Collect and document patient history information through verbal and written sources, including history and physical examination, problems identified, care provided and plans for follow-up or referral.
Order and/or perform pertinent diagnostic tests, analyze collected data to determine health status.
Collaborate with physicians and other health care professionals in the development of treatment goals and care plans, coordinate services and treatments in order to implement and accomplish the goals for our patients.
Plan, direct and participate in the education of the patient and their family including, but not limited to, pre-op teaching, admission and post-op patient assessment and care.
Perform first and/or second assist in surgery, perform minor surgical procedures, case card development, posting of cases, and other activities that create efficiencies.
Provide clinical research support, recruit, and screen potential research subject; care out research protocol as written, monitor patient’s compliance; and compile, retrieve and analyze research data.
Participate in elevating the department’s clinical, teaching and research programmatic missions.

Salary

Salary commensurate with education and experience.

Salary Range: $76,232 - $124,226/hour

Grade: PAT-011

Monday – Friday

8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications

PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT:

Graduation from an AMA accredited physician assistant program, including national certification, as a physician assistant by the NCCPA is preferred.

Possession of a current Missouri license to practice as a licensed Physician Assistant is required.

NURSE PRACTITIONER:

Preparation as a nurse practitioner in either a Master's program or a certificate program.

Licensure as a registered professional nurse in the State of Missouri and must be granted a “Document of Recognition” from the Missouri State Board of Nursing.

Preferred Qualifications

Two years of clinical practice as a PA or NP is preferred .
