Job Summary
Two positions available!
The Office of Professional and Career Development within the Harbert College of Business at Auburn University is searching for a Career Counselor. This position will advise and counsel students and alumni concerning career choices, employment opportunities, and part-time job opportunities.
Essential Functions
The responsibilities for this position include the following:
1) Provides individual and group career counseling to include (but not limited to) career development, career choice, workplace transition, and career development issues.
2) Plans, develops, and/or presents informational programs related to issues such as career development, career choice, academic plans, workplace transition, and job search skill development.
3) Documents, reports on, and/or maintains records and evaluation information from counseling/program sessions.
4) May coordinate internships for students with interested companies and corporations and maintain career recourse information.
5) May train students as peer career counselors.
6) Assists in the design and implementation of procedures.
7) May serve as liaison between students and employers, persuade employers to recruit student and campus graduates and encourage students to research companies and practice interviewing skills.
8) Teaches in the undergraduate professional development curriculum and contributes to the design and assessment of the courses.

Requirements for Additional Job Levels
Level II, the candidate must have 2 years experience providing career counseling and planning services
Salary Range: $35,000 – $58,400
Level III, the candidate must have 4 years experience providing career counseling and planning services.
Salary Range: $39,300 = $65,500

Must have great communication skills to connect with students, alumni, and employers.
Familiarity with career assessment instruments, knowledge of career fields and employment markets, knowledge of career/job search engines/websites, ability to work collaboratively with other staff in teams to accomplish goals.
Minimum Technology Skills
Microsoft Suite.
