Music and Theatre Arts: Instructor of Applied Voice (60%)

POSITION: Applied Voice Instructor-Soprano or Mezzo Soprano preferred.  60% FTE Instructional Academic Staff Position in the Department of Music and Theatre Arts in the Lecturer title series beginning August 22, 2022.  This is a one-year renewable appointment with salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.

QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree required; Doctorate preferred.  The following will be considered assets: evidence of successful teaching at the collegiate level; demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusiveness.

DUTIES: Duties and responsibilities include teaching applied voice as assigned, which includes teaching an active studio class and recruiting prospective voice students.  Other responsibilities could be assigned according to departmental need. 

THE DEPARTMENT: The Department of Music and Theatre Arts serves over 400 majors and minors supported by approximately 30 full-time and 11 part-time faculty and 7 staff.  UW-Eau Claire has a large and respected Voice and Choral Program, with six choirs and strong opera and musical theatre programs.  The Department is highly regarded in the state and region and enriches the Eau Claire community while providing outstanding academic opportunities.  Faculty are active solo and collaborative performers and are dedicated to innovative teaching.  Academic programs include the BM degree in performance and composition; the BME degree in instrumental and choral music education; the BA and BS degrees in music and musical theatre.  All degree programs are fully accredited by NASM.  Applicants are encouraged to peruse the Department’s website at www.uwec.edu/Mus-The and the Pablo Center’s website http://www.pablocenter.org/
