About this Opportunity
Ball State University is seeking a Human Resources professional to join our team to lead efforts in developing strategies and processes to create a pipeline of qualified and diverse candidates. This is a relatively new role at the University and the Assistant Director will help us redesign our talent acquisition and onboarding programs.

Position Function
In conjunction with the HR leadership team, serve as a consultative leader to provide strategic and operational direction for talent acquisition and onboarding initiatives to include developing strategies and processes to create a pipeline of qualified and diverse candidates. Provide daily management and direction to the Talent Acquisition function. Work collaboratively with the university community to ensure the unit provides a high level of customer service, with a focus on positive issue resolution.
Minimum Education
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
Minimum Experience
Five years of experience in full cycle recruitment (writing job descriptions and qualifications, developing recruitment strategies, assisting with the onboarding of new employees, etc.); Experience using an online talent acquisition system, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Lead the Talent Acquisition function to implement a variety of recruitment and outreach strategies while ensuring timely and accurate expected levels of customer service. Manages project plans and partners with HR team members to design, deploy and ensure desired outcomes and metrics are met.

Administer the recruitment and onboarding program to meet the needs of the university. Utilize metrics to evaluate recruiting performances and improve recruiting initiatives. Review requests to fill vacancies and related ad campaigns; review and edit recruitment ads that promote the position and university and attract a diverse, qualified applicant pool. Perform outreach activities such as attend job fairs and local recruiting. Monitor recruitment pools to determine if additional recruitment efforts are needed.

Manage the online recruitment and applicant tracking systems for staff, service, professional and faculty positions. Ensure the system operates efficiently and work with customers and vendor to implement process improvement. Work closely with the vendor on enhancements and implementation of changes to the Applicant Tracking System to ensure an efficient, consistent and effective application, screening, and hiring process.
