Job Summary
Teach Pediatric Occupational Therapy (4 Credits)
This course examines the impact of pediatric disease and dysfunction upon the physical and social development of the child. It examines the impact upon learning, engagement in occupation, and the need for adaptation. The course reviews theory, assessment, and intervention strategies utilized to address the needs of the pediatric client. Lecture: 3 hours Lab: 3 hours

• Demonstrate commitment to providing academic support to all students.
• Ensure student awareness of available resources that support learning and success within the institution.
• Facilitate engagement and academic success incorporating an ability to counsel and motivate students Instruction Skills.
• Engage in high-quality instruction by presenting content which reflects current and relevant evidence–based OT theory and practice.
• Identify and utilize resources to enhance the efficiency and quality of classroom and laboratory experiences.
• Utilize technology to enhance instruction and classroom organization.
Minimum Requirements
• Graduate of an Occupational Therapy education program accredited by ACOTE .
• Bachelor’s Degree in Rehabilitative Sciences.
• Minimum of 4-5 years of clinical practice as an Occupational Therapist or Occupational Therapist Assistant in pediatrics, required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience didactic teaching at the postsecondary level.
Competencies
• Master Degree in Occupational Therapy (Preferred).
