Job Summary
Teach developmental mathematics classes that emphasize basic skills in arithmetic and elementary algebra.
Teach mathematics courses in the technical, business, liberal arts, and opportunities to teach upper division courses according to the candidate’s expertise.
Teach variety of courses with different delivery methods (online, co-requisite, modular emporium, hybrid, lecture and virtual learning environment).
Duties and Responsibilities
· Commit to the Mission of the College, its diverse student population and to an inclusive work and educational environment.
· Teach mathematics with the patience, repetition, effective communication, and variety of approaches that are essential for success in this position.
· Provide students with thorough explanations of mathematical concepts.
· Use innovative instructional strategies that support student success and recognize diverse learning styles and abilities.
· Manage the classroom in ways that are conducive to student success and safety.
· Teach a range of classes in mathematics based on the current offerings and needs of the Mathematics Department.
· Teach at multiple campus locations depending on the needs of the Mathematics Department.
· Communicate effectively and clearly with students and colleagues.
· Exhibit organizational and interpersonal skills within a collaborative environment.
Minimum Requirements
· A Master’s Degree in Mathematics, or a Master’s Degree in Mathematics Education (with 21 or more graduate credits in mathematics), or a Master’s Degree in Statistics with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics (or Mathematics Education).
